There are a lot of movies that we are REALLY looking forward to seeing this season, but one that really stands out is Lion. Adapted from the non-fictional book, A Long Way Home, by Saroo Brierley, Lion is about a five-year-old Indian boy, who gets lost in the streets of Calcutta. After a wrong train takes him thousands of miles away from his home and family, he survives many challenges before being adopted by an Australian couple. Twenty-five years later, armed with only the scantest of clues, Read more [...]

I'm pretty sure I've watched the trailer for Bad Moms about 100 times since it was released a few months ago. Not only are 2 of my girl crushes in it (hello Kristen and Christina, I'm looking at you!), but it also looks completely relatable and ridiculously hilarious! I have been counting down the days until I get to see this movie, and now the premiere is less than a week away! A woman with a seemingly perfect life – a great marriage, overachieving kids, beautiful home, stunning looks Read more [...]

It's been a while since I've done a book review on the blog, but that's mostly because I haven't read anything that I felt strongly enough about to share (good or bad) in a long time. That doesn't mean that I'm not still the same bookworm I always have been! Some things just don't change. Me Before You from Jojo Moyes is one of those books I've had on my list since it came out. For some reason, I've read several of her other books but not this one as yet. My mother-in-law and sister-in-law LOVED Read more [...]

A Petit Lem Baby Shower

I LOVE Petit Lem baby clothes. I really do. When my daughter was born, she was tiny (she dropped down to 5lbs 12oz in the hospital). NOTHING fit her. Not even the cutests newborn size clothes. Petit Lem was the only brand I could find that made clothes that fit my tiny girl. As it turns out, my son was born 3.5 weeks premature, and I have another small baby at home. He's been living in Petit Lem sleepers for the past 2 1/2 weeks because he was swimming in everything else we own (despite his long Read more [...]

Anyone who knows me knows I am obsessed in love with elephants. It's true. They're just so large and so grand and awe-inspiring yet so elegant and graceful and playful. There is just something so beautiful about them that has captivated me since I was young. [Seriously, come see my house, and you'll see what I mean.] I've tried to instil some of that love for those majestic creatures in my daughter, but so far she's only mildly interested. I'm hoping that changes this week when we take her Read more [...]

As some of you may know, my husband is planning to go before the National Assembly next month and speak out against the proposed "Charter of Values", aka Bill 60. He wants you to be heard, too! You can read all about his plan here: http://thefunnyaccountant.com/2013/12/04/for-my-daughter-i-will-participate-in-the-bill-60-hearings/ As a very proud wife, I just listened to him speak on our local news talk radio channel, CJAD800.
