I Cheated…

Here it is... my confession... I cheated. I love my husband dearly, but I just COULD NOT resist... Especially since he started it with his own cheating! #SorryNotSorry It turns out, we're in good company, though. It seems that 46% of global Netflix viewers are cheating RIGHT NOW... with their favourite Netflix shows. It also turns out that we Canadians are not quite as polite as we like to think, with over 1/3 (37% to be exact) of couples streaming behind each other's backs. In fact, cheating Read more [...]

I have to start this post by saying that Full House DEFINED my childhood. When they announced that the show was ending  in 1995, 10-year-old Jordana actually wrote passionate, heart-wrenching letters to the studio and the producers begging and pleading that they please please please reconsider. Didn't they know how much the show meant to kids like me? How important it was for us to have role models like the Tanner Girls to look to? How else would I learn my way through being a tween- Blossom was Read more [...]

Hello readers! I've already shared with you some of my favourite Netflix streaming choices from the beginning of my maternity leave... So I thought I'd do an update post! It's been a wet, rainy midsummer so far, and baby boy and I have been spending a little more time indoors because of it. We were running around, outside and active most days this sunny season, but it's nice to have a reprieve now and again (especially with my maternity leave starting to draw to a close- SAY IT AIN'T SO!). What is family? That's something you have to define for yourself. In my case, family is a big, long explanation. :) When I was young, I was one of the only kids I knew with divorced parents. When I spent time at a friend's house, it usually meant there was a Mommy, a Daddy, my friend, and maybe a sibling or two. From the time I was 4 years old, I had 2 distinct families: my mom's family who all lived in South Florida, and my dad's family who all lived in Toronto. Those were the simple times Read more [...]

It's the end of March. Somehow that means I'm around half way through my maternity leave! I'm trying to take the glass-half-full approach and think in terms of still having half of my mat leave left rather than being sad that it's already half over. I'm not even close to ready for thinking about leaving my little dude every day. Everyone's biggest question (besides "Is he sleeping through the night?") has been: "What are you watching?". Well, I'm here to publicly share the list of my favourite Read more [...]
An Ode to 2014

An Ode to 2014

Let me just start by saying "THANK YOU". Thank you 2014 for all of your wonderful ups and downs, ins and outs, and a few upside downs. As you might remember, your predecessor 2013 was much less than kind to me at times. I was so glad to welcome you a year ago, 2014, and you did not disappoint. We started the year with a few bumps- lots of sickness and such, but that's to be expected with a toddler running around. Then, I returned to the stage for the first time in 10+ years. It was thrilling Read more [...]

Publisher's Synopsis: The Woman Who Stole My Life is a beautiful, page-turning novel about losing the life you had and starting a new one. One day, sitting in traffic, married Dublin mom Stella Sweeney attempts a good deed. The resulting car crash changes her life. She meets a man who wants her telephone number (for the insurance, it turns out). That's okay. She doesn't really like him much anyway (his Range Rover totally banjaxed her car). But in this meeting is born the seed of something Read more [...]
A Petit Lem Baby Shower

A Petit Lem Baby Shower

I LOVE Petit Lem baby clothes. I really do. When my daughter was born, she was tiny (she dropped down to 5lbs 12oz in the hospital). NOTHING fit her. Not even the cutests newborn size clothes. Petit Lem was the only brand I could find that made clothes that fit my tiny girl. As it turns out, my son was born 3.5 weeks premature, and I have another small baby at home. He's been living in Petit Lem sleepers for the past 2 1/2 weeks because he was swimming in everything else we own (despite his long Read more [...]
