I Cheated…

Posted by: on Mar 7, 2017 | No Comments

Here it is… my confession…

I cheated. I love my husband dearly, but I just COULD NOT resist… Especially since he started it with his own cheating! #SorryNotSorry

It turns out, we’re in good company, though.

It seems that 46% of global Netflix viewers are cheating RIGHT NOW… with their favourite Netflix shows. It also turns out that we Canadians are not quite as polite as we like to think, with over 1/3 (37% to be exact) of couples streaming behind each other’s backs. In fact, cheating has become more socially acceptable in Canada- 57% of us say it’s “not bad at all”. Unless, of course, you’re the other half of the 14% of couples who think watching ahead is worse than having an “actual” affair.

Think I’m making this up?! Just check out the infographic below!

As a couple, we totally fall into some of the above pitfalls!

It all started with Hubby cheating with House of Cards (#4 on the list!). We started the series together while I was pregnant with my son. Then, I found those pregnancy hormones were making me just too sleepy to stay awake and keep at it. (See 25% of cheaters above!) He said he would wait for me. Then baby came, and along with him, came early nights in bed… That was the end of that. Hubby cheated. He cheated over and over and over again. I don’t know if I’ll ever forgive him!CheatingProfile_TheSleeplessCheater_Joyce

I got my revenge, though. With #3! We started Season 3 of Orange is the New Black together the day it came out. We had been waiting so long for its release as fans of the first 2 seasons. We got about 5 episodes in before taking a break because the action “slowed down” and we got busy. Last summer, a friend told me I was at that crucial plateau point before everything went bananas in Litchfield. I decided to test her theory and watch “just one episode” to see. Oh man… that was the end of that! Any time the mister was out of the house and I had alone time, I was in the world of Piper and crew. I am now anxiously counting down the minutes until Season 5 comes out in June and poor Hubby has been told that he’d better get his act together and play catch up!

The good news so far is that we DO have shows that we have agreed to watch together. The are in our queue… just waiting for us to spend some quality time. Hopefully we can keep it together!

Don’t worry dear friends… we are not alone in our streaming infidelity!

Oh- and Netflix has us covered with some tips on making it THAT much easier to cheat! Enjoy and happy streaming!
